There is nothing more Italian than Radicchio - it not only adds colour and flavour to your salads, but can be cooked and served as a vegetable too. PS - and it's good for you also.

Some varieties can be planted very late and harvested up to Jan, Feb or even Mar, and the 'Palla Rossa' varieties can stand temperatures as low as -15c !!

We see radicchio's in our supermarket mixed salad packs, but brush them with olive oil and
sling them on the barbi, roast them in the oven or use on 'bruschetta'.
