Thin, tasty asparagus tips from small/med crowns. Pan fry with butter, use with eggs, crepes, risotto and 'Torta di patate' (potato cake) and with truffles. Pre-order now for the new year. Superior wild asparagus is a very precious variety, with high productivity, suitable for any climate and soil. To obtain very good asparagus it is advisable to prepare a long furrow. The transplant must be done correctly - The Asparagus crown should be positioned in a single row at the bottom of the furrow with a distance of 33cm apart ( about 3 per metre ), making sure to lie the roots horizontally. Cover them immediately with 5cm of soil. After the first year we advise you to pick only 2 or 3 asparagus per plant. In the second year you can pick for weeks ( until June ). In summer put Nitrogen fertilizer and water in the trench. In autumn the leaves will become yellow and dry, so you must cut them off (Picture 2 ). Wild asparagus produces medium size asparagus, but with an exceptional taste, very good boiled or steamed and perfect for omelettes, risotto, pasta and with black truffles. Sow Nov-Apr.
